Railfan Day 2024

Saturday, June 22th, 2024
​10am - 3pm
Enjoy an interesting, fun and informative day out for railfans! The first train departs East Troy at 10am and the last train leaves at 3pm.  Tickets are good all day so you can ride different equipment  throughout the day, subject to availability. 

A limited number of specialty tickets will also be available for a rare “Behind the Scenes” trolley ride and tour of the maintenance facility and car barns.

Railfan activities include:
  • ETRM will operate a mix of its equipment creating the opportunity to see and photograph trains. 
  • "Behind the Scenes" ride/tour (special ticket required)​​

  • MLES 7½ inch gauge Ride-On Trains​
  • Note Railfan Day 2024 will NOT have a swap meet.

Behind the Scenes Tour
Saturday, June 22, 2:05PM
​Guests will board Twin City Rapid Transit Company's 1583 (subject to availability) at 2:05 PM at the East Troy Depot then travel to the Maintenance Facility where they tour our restoration and maintenance shops. Guests will then reboard car 1583 for a ride to our East Troy Barn for a guided tour.  The ride will end back at the East Troy Depot.  Due to scheduling, total time is about 2 hours.

Guests must have closed toe shoes and be able to climb on and off the car and walk over tracks and around equipment.

​Tickets are also good all day for regularly scheduled trains.  Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. All ticket sales are final.  Price: $30 per person
MLES Ride on Trains
All Day During Railfan 2024, Saturday, June 22

The Milwaukee Light Engineering Society (MLES) will be providing free rides on the their scale model railroad.  

The MLES will lay track for their 7.5 inch gauge railroad at the Elegant Farmer Depot.  Members of the MLES will be on hand throughout the day to give rides.

Plan your visit to the East Troy Railroad and your stop at the Elegant Farmer to include a time to enjoy this way to experience electric railroading.

​Just Added -- Speeder Rides!
Throughout Railfan Day, June 22, 2024


​NARCOA will be present to provide speeder rides throughout Railfan Day.  Tickets for speeder rides will be available in the Depot.

Rides will be timed so they will not interfere with the regularly schedule trains.  For more information please visit the East Troy Depot at 2002 Church Street East Troy, WI.
