No 2023 Night Photo Train

There is always something magical about night photography, even more so with vintage railcars! The East Troy Railroad Museum is offering a special night and 'blue hour' photo shoot. Space is limited to 35 photographers. This small group allows an intimate opportunity to get unique shots. You must have reserved a ticket on the Photo Train to participate in the Photography Session. A contest will be held to determine our 2024 Calendar photo. (Winning 2019 photo pictured left.)
Equipment should include newly restored Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee “Silverliner” #761 and a train of Chicago, South Shore & South Bend electric MU cars. Lighting will be provided by noted night rail photographer Steve Barry from Railfan & Railroad Magazine. Schedule: 6:00PM - 10:00PM Fee: $50 per participant / $40 per ETRM/NRHS member |
Requirements:
All photographers will have an opportunity to select and edit their favorite photos prior to submission. Directions on photo submittal will be handed out during the event.
Disclaimer: The East Troy Railroad Museum, Inc. reserves the right to change or cancel the Night Shoot if unforeseen circumstances arise. This includes but is not limited to severely inclement weather, equipment problems and schedule changes. Safety is our number one concern.
Boarding is only done at our East Troy Depot and advance reservations are required.
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, All ticket sales are final.
All pictures entered into the calendar contest are to be released to the museum for its use.

The Museum rides are for demonstration purposes only. It is not a common-carrier passenger operation. We do not sell one-way tickets. While we make every possible effort to serve our patrons, due to the nature of vintage railroad equipment, we reserve the right to alter operations at any time.
- Sturdy shoes. NO open toe/open back shoes.
- A sturdy tripod and a camera capable of long shutter speeds.
- Know your camera and how to adjust its settings. This is not a photography class. We will provide suggested apertures & shutter speeds but you are required to know how to operate your camera.
- Signed “Release of Liability” form. These will be required before you can pick up your ticket.
- Any participant not adhering to the direction of official staff will be escorted off the property and no refund will be given. In order to continue offering Night Shoots, safety will not be compromised. Thank you for your cooperation.
