Start your journey into the past at either the East Troy Depot (2002 Church Street, East Troy, WI) or at the Elegant Farmer Station (1545 Main Street, Mukwonago, WI) during the summer and fall seasons. We recommend beginning your journey at the East Troy Depot, located just a short walk from the historic village square! For more information on tickets and station departures, click here.

At the East Troy Depot, free parking and bathrooms are available. The Depot opens 60 minutes before the first train leaves and closes after the last train of the day arrives back. Our Depot was once the first automated substation in America, and supplied power to the electric railroad and the village for years!
Interact with the displays, peek at detailed model trolleys, and shop in the extensive gift shop! Then board the train right outside! |
|
Then step outside and board your train! All of our trains and trolleys in passenger service were built between 1908 and 1930 and operated in Wisconsin or a neighboring state. All trains are clean and powered by a 600-volt electrical overhead wire, original to 1907. On board, watch as the motorman operates the train down the tracks, and listen to the conductor or docent tell various stories about electric railroading and local history. |
|
Trains leaving East Troy run through the picturesque Wisconsin countryside eastbound. Your train may pass another at either Army Lake or Beulah siding before passing the Jim Byrnes Memorial Park.
Summer trains stop at The Elegant Farmer, an old country store, before continuing further to Mukwonago and turning around at Lower Phantom Lake. Not all trains continue across Highway ES into Indianhead Park before stopping back at the Elegant Farmer. Special Event trains do not go east of the Elegant Farmer. |
