Our facilities and historic electric trains and trolleys are available for private charter on weekdays and at select times on weekends from April through October. The East Troy Depot is also only a short distance from the East Troy Village Square and other local attractions, making our charters great for gatherings and tour groups in southeastern Wisconsin!
We offer multiple types of charters, including:

- Educational Programs for schools/institutions including a train ride
- Lunch and dinner charters onboard our dinning cars
- Charters with a delicious box lunch

Our charters usually run for two to two-and-a-half hours, but may be planned for longer (at an additional charge). Private and Party Charters
|
Experience history as you ride on the last 7 miles of Southeastern Wisconsin's interurban system on a vintage trolley or interurban car.
We recommend starting your personalized trip at our East Troy Depot so you may visit the museum and gift shop and use the restrooms before boarding. If you wish to eat before or after the charter you can bring or arrange for your own food/cake/drinks using the picnic tables at the Depot. For special occasions, table arrangements may be reconfigured for special needs, such as making room for musical groups, presentations and displays, or that giant birthday cake. Our charters are a great way to make memories which will last a lifetime! Most trolley and interurban cars hold between 35 and 50 passengers. Multi-Car trains can accommodate up to 150 riders. Multiple trains can be arranged for groups over 150 riders. For groups of 10-30 an economical alternative is to purchase group tickets on a regularly scheduled train. |

A trolley ride could be part of your experience, and we can offer a tour of our shop area and carbarn (where the trains are housed), depending on the work occurring there on the day of your visit.

Book an educational charter
ETRM has discounted rates and terms for schools and educational organizations! The STEM and Docent History programs can be provided as part of an Educational Charter at no additional cost. However, we recommend contacting the ETRM charter manager (Email: [email protected]) as soon as possible to obtain the pre-visit materials to maximize the educational benefit.
The Educational Charters are offered between May 1 and Labor Day, but other dates until September 30 may be available. The classes are held outside if possible and certain locations require walks of up to 3 blocks. Not all areas have hard surfaces and weather conditions may preclude outside scheduling.
We generally schedule charters Monday through Thursday as no other trains are typically on the line. However, it is also possible to schedule tours on most Fridays, but we do run other trains that day at 10AM, noon and 2PM. If your group is smaller, we could possibly accommodate you on our regular trains.
