History of CTA 28, 35, and 45 by year

1959 - Our three cars are built by the St. Louis Car Company and delivered to the CTA in the Mercury Green, Croydon Cream, and Swamp Holly Orange paint scheme (Car 28s current scheme). Once delivered they are assigned to the West Northwest Line (today's Blue Line)
1961 - Cars 28 and 45 are equipped with trolley poles and assigned to the Evanston Line (today's Purple Line)
1966 - Our three cars are repainted into the Mint Green and Alpine White paint scheme.
1970 - Car 35 is reassigned to the Ravenswood Line (today's Brown Line) and is retrofitted with a conductors window on the #2 end. (The only car saved from the scrapper with this conductor window)
1973 - Car 45 has its trolley poles removed after the Evanston Line is equipped with 3rd rail.
1985 - Our three cars are sent to Morris Knudsen for a rebuild and came back to CTA in the Red, White, and Blue Spirit of Chicago paint scheme (Cars 35 and 45 current paint scheme). All three of our cars are then assigned to the Evanston Line.
